I can post this now because he is coming back today (March 14th) :)
10. Let the house go and the laundry pile up.
9. Stay up late every night so that when you go to sleep you are too tired to care about the noises the house is making.
8. Order two large pizzas and eat them all by yourself throughout the week.
7. Paint the bathroom upstairs because there is no one to talk to after the kids are in bed and it helps with #9.
6. Stock up on your caffeinated beverage of choice to use when exhaustion sets in from staying up late every night.
5. Rent a romantic movie and snuggle up with your blanket.
4. Stay busy.
3. Keep the phone near by in case he calls in the evening so you can have another adult conversation.
2. Keep the phone nearby during the day so the kids can talk to him after they start wondering "when is daddy coming home?"
1. Practice your patience.

Sounds like you've got everything under control! I ALWAYS stay up late enough when Cletus is gone that when I go to bed, I'm too tired to hear strange noises. It doesn't always work, but most of the time. Number 11 could be to go and visit friends that you haven't seen in a long time!
That's a great #11 Alice! :)
And my personal favorite: Go through his clothes and nasty socks and trash everything you don't like. He'll never notice anyways. Good job surviving without Greg. Isn't it nice to get them home (and leave the house without kids?)
Ohhhh how I don't miss those days! Aaron used to travel quite a bit but now he's home every night for dinner at 6...ok, usually baseball practices or games.
I am glad I am not the only one who stays up late so I don't hear the creaks in the house! Glad he will be home soon!
Glad you survived!! You were more motivated than I would be (painting a room!) I guess you had to spend your b-day as a single parent..no fun. Sorry about that!
You sound like a seasoned military wife! :) That list pretty much sums it up for what I do. I also got rid of stuff I didn't like and they really do not notice. If he does find out about something and asks, "what else did you get rid of?", you can ask in return, "what else is missing?. He most likely will not be able to tell you.
Another fun thing I have done while Dale has been gone is contact old friends I had lost touch with. I have strengthened some great friendships that way and it really helps with the loneliness factor.
By the way. I left your number at home. I'm trying to find it on the net. Could you please email it to me or Dale. thanks
You know, Scott always gets rid of stuff when I'm gone. Weenie.
I stay up late too! I hate it when Scott travels, but I love it when he comes home:)..
