Crazy Fun

Parker learned to blow up balloons by himself this weekend and has been entertaining himself and Meadow by blowing them up and then letting them go zooming and tooting across the room. They have been laughing so hard about it that it is impossible not to laugh too.

Over the 4th of July we had fun setting off some fireworks in Hickory. I think the kids had the most fun catching fireflies in a mason jar in Grandma and Grandpa's backyard afterward when it was starting to get dark. Something every kid should try! They had so much fun and they are pretty easy to catch. We got about 20 in the jar and then took them inside and turned the light off in the bathroom and watched them light up. Then we let them go. We forgot to bring our camera.

My blog says it has no more room for pictures unless I start paying for it. lol. I am going to have to make a blurb book of remembrance out of 2008 and 2009 and take them off to make room. This will be motivating to get it done. :) Has anyone made one yet? I slurped it up but haven't started re-arranging or editing yet. I think it will be a little bit time consuming so I am waiting until August when things won't be so busy.

I've made a blurb book before. They are awesome! I didn't do a blog book (even though the content was from a blog). My book was a collection of family history stories with pictures.

It was easier for me to copy and paste. The default layout for blog books didn't go with my project and instead of changing each page independently, I went with a different type of book.

The one thing to warn you about is the type editing. It is SO SLOW and kind of quirky! But be patient, the end product is great!

I've got a blog book waiting in the wings too. It's our Korea blog. I figured after 2.5 years, it's about time to get it printed! :)

I just finished editing my 2008 blog book through blurb.com. The editing took me quite a while. But, I wanted it perfect, so it might not take everyone that long. I ordered the book early last week, so I'll let you know how I like the print quality. Blog2Print.com is an easy way to go, but it has less features than blurb if you're ok with that, and it has to be an 8x10 book.

love blurb- sooooo much easier than scrapbooking and I order a book for each of the kids too so when they leave home they'll have their "scrapbooks"

Wait, what?! I didn't know there was a limit on pictures! That's bad news.

Sounds like you're having a crazy fun summer! Let me know how your book turns out.

Try using an image hosting site like photobucket.

Then copy and paste the html code it generates into the body of your blog post to add the picture.

This should avoid the picture limit on blogger (which I had no idea they had)

I'm trying to get everything together to do the blurb books as Christmas presents this year...tedious work! But worth it!

I used blurb. Sign up with your email address (a junk email address because they send lots of emails) and they will eventually send you some coupon codes. When I bought mine it was 20% off and free shipping. Splurge for the thicker paper.

LIBERATION
Coupon code for 20% off at blurb.

I love the firefly story. That is is favorite part about moving to AR... THere is something about fireflies that is magical. We didn't have those in Idaho!

Send us some firefly's --- I think we are missing out.
